Classes are held on a Thursday evening at The Drill Hall, Ware.Map to Drill Hall
Apart from the weekly classes, we also run regular preparation sessions for the three levels of Good Citizen award, a scheme run by the Kennel Club to promote responsible dog ownership.
Each class is planned and run by a qualified trainer, and will always have at least one other trainer assisting - the beginners classes will usually have two or three assistants. So although the classes are group based, there is plenty of opportunity for one to one help and advice.
There is always someone available to answer your questions, so you're more than welcome to come and visit - but please don't bring your dog with you.
Because of the number of trainers at the club, we can offer individual advice and training away from the classes themselves. The Drill Hall has a large hall which we divide into two so we can run two classes at once, but also benefits from a side room where small groups or one on one training can happen. It is also used for post classes discussions and question and answer sessions.
Class schedule
7:00 pm Beginners' (10 Week Courses)
This is a 10 week course intended to cover the basic commands and to give the owners a grounding in handling their dog. It ranges from puppies to older dogs that have had no training. These classes are very popular, and as they run in ten week sessions and places in the class are limited, please do not just turn up hoping to join in. 7:45 pm Improvers I & II
Building on the lessons learnt in the Beginners course these classes extend some of the commands and ensures that the basics are well understood.
8:30 pm Intermediate I & II
These classes take some of the commands further and introduces more advanced commands and exercises.
9:15pm Advanced I & II
This class is intended for those handlers that wish to take their training much further and towards competition standard.
